Hi, I currently have a computer used mainly as a home file server and would like to install a new operating system specifically Windows Home Server. It currently has Windows Xp on it right now and running fine. I just want to upgrade. To clarify things, The OS has its own hard drive. My question is that, given that I have a raid 0 setup through my motherboard via nvraid on two drives for storage, Would I lose the data If i were to install a new OS? I know that if it were software based, then yes I would lose all the data but not quite sure about hardware based.
