I just formatted my drive in windows, but can't transfer my media collection.

It's about 140gb.

I disabled simple file sharing in windows and have admin privaledges on both folders. Did i do something wrong?

More information is needed.

I will make a couple of assumptions. You plugged a drive in via a BlackX Sata dock, were able to format the drive, but are having problems getting your files to copy. The 140 gb is the size of the media collection. What model is the new drive?

Does the new drive show up in My Computer with a drive letter and the proper size? Are any files copying, or is it progressing to some spot midway and failing? Did you reboot?

File sharing has no effect if both drives are local. That is only a Network setting.

Well, you can try pulling the cover and seeing if it acts any better when you plug it into a sata port. Did you boot the machine with the drive installed, or did you just hot plug it? Have you ever used this esata port before?

Never used the port before. Did not boot with the drive in.

So it shows in my Computer and has a drive letter? Little things like this are important.

Have you tried copying a tiny file to see if it will work?
