Greetings,

I have a desktop that is running Vista 32 and a laptop running vista 64. I have tried and tried to connect to the desktop and vis-a-versa and although I can "see" the desktop from the laptop no matter what I do, I can't open the folders. Would the fact that one is 32 and one is 64 have anything to do with it? Best as I can tell, and a buddy of mine, we haven't missed anything as far as sharing goes.

Any thoughts?

I don't know about 64-bit to 32-bit (which shouldn't be a problem) but I had issues connecting to my Vista machine from the other XP machines in my house. I can't remember how I fixed it now, but it had something to do with permissions.

You need to allow remote access and set permissions.

Nope, that shouldn't be a problem. I run a mix in my house (32 bit on media systems, 64 bit on gaming systems) without issue. Are you using simple or advanced sharing? I always use advanced and change the users from everyone to my user account. Then can connect just by mapping the drive and entering my user creditials for that system.

Excellent! Thanks everyone, I knew I had to be overlooking one thing, permissions!
