I was wondering if it would be safe to run 3.4ghz on a e6600 with a 1.33-1.34 vcore, I have the fsb voltage up to 1.4v so should i just run the cpu at 1.4? i want my temps to be low but i don't want to hurt the cpu by running it at such a high speed and starving it of volts. Thanks in advance! :D

As long as your CPU is stable you don't have to higher the voltage.

If you are happy with that OC and don't want to push further, then back the volts off one step at a time, doing stability testing after each change. If it fails stability testing then you have found the lower limit for your OC. Each chip is different so none of us can tell you what your minimum voltage should be.

My chip seems to only be so so for oc'ing, i can't really push it past 3.4ghz even with the vcore way up. :( Also it seems i can't even keep a very high oc with out cranking up the vcore.

It may be your ram. Have you lower the speed and timings of your RAM to just check the potential of your CPU?

I've only kept them at stock speeds, 4-4-4-12 at 2.0v 4 gigs of ddr2 800. But will lowering the timings give me a better oc on my cpu? or do i need to overclock the ram? or should i do both?

You might get a higher OC out of your RAM at 5-5-5. I'd drop the memory divider to as low as it will go (1:1 usually), and then see if you can OC your cpu more. By the time you get to the stock speed of the RAM, you'll be at 3.6Ghz with the E6600. I'm not sure how much better they do than that off the top of my head. My E6600 would only do 3.3Ghz or so on air with 1.375V.
