"Burn as bootable" usually means that you're going to be asked to supply a boot image along with the data image. So, I'd say burn as a data since the image already has a boot image in it.

You need to burn it as a bootable file, if you burn it as data you will just have an .img file on the disk and not the extracted archive of the original disk image, and in turn will not be bootable. You could save your self allot of trouble and just DL ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/).

Imgburn will burn whatever's in the image to disc, instead of the image itself, so yes.

There are many ways to use ImgBurn, if you set it as default for that type of file then all you have to do is open the file and click "burn", other wise you will open the program and click on "write image file to disc" and you can either browse for the file or drag and drop it into the program window. It does everything else. Other than selecting the drive (if you have more than one), write speed and how many copies, other wise you just hit the burn button.

I just use ISO Recorder (http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm). Right click the .img file and click burn to CD. You might have to manually change the extention to .iso, but IIRC it works. You could also mount the .img file, right click, and copy CD to CD if that doesn't work.
