First time it happened on my 1TB drive I thought my mobo was fried, as it wouldn't go past post with it plugged in,
second time around just happened now =(
but the first time I was able to plug the drive back in after I got into windows, and it would work, now it wont let me, can i switch the board from my other 1TB 7200.11 to get it working?

no
i just thought it wouldn't go past post on account of my motherboard
I had 5 hds at the time, this just happened to be the HD i was testing with and everytime i plugged it in it wouldn't boot past the post screen
I figured out it was the HD later but still =p

I wouldnt swap boards, just give them a reason to not help you/refund you when the time comes.
WHY has seagate not released a recall, I feel like going down to every local store and advising them to take them off their shelves to keep this from happening :(
