Wow, already OOS. :( Oh, and you gotta love the "limit 2 per customer".... It lasted less than 4 minutes, I doubt they even had more than 2.

Man I got lucky, these were available for about 10 minutes today, then disappeared again. It looks like the Gigabyte version is out of stock again too.

Ok, Ok, I got one too. I actually already got it delivered, lol, and flashed it to the asus 4870x2
top bios. The board I got doesn't work with it though so I'm returning that, and got the asus rampage extreme board coming :o. If you need a guide on how to flash it to the 4870x2 top bios, here you go. I'd skip the volt mod stuff though.

Wow, these are temping. But I think I'm going to wait for the GTX 295 and see where it debuts before I bite.

Good idea, prices will probably drop even more on the 4870x2 and gtx280 this week with the new
hardware coming out. Since I am going with a watercooling setup with the asus rampage extreme, I
might as well get a 4870x2, since I don't think you could water cool the gtx295 since it's going
to be two 260s sandwiched. That seems like a lot of heat your going to deal with sandwiching those
together as well. Plus the limited memory also hurts the gtx295 as well. I'm more interested in the
gtx285.

I know the 4870X2 has some VERY nice waterblocks available for it. I think it will take some time before the GTX 295 has a selection too. I'm interested in the GTX 295 for its performance margins over the 4870X2. The lower memory crossed my mind, but in the end, if I have to turn down the AA I will.

That was kind of a steam of consciousness sentence :p. Right now I'm gaming at 2560x1600 on a 4870 512MB. I've been eying both the 4870X2 and GTX 295 for an upgrade. My comment was that I'm leaning towards the GTX 295 because it performs better than the 4870X2. However, it only has 896MB of effective memory where as the 4870X2 has 1GB. VRAM is very helpful when running high resolutions, especially when using AA. I was saying I suppose I could go with the GTX 295 with only 896MB of memory and if I eventually become vRAM limited, turn down or off AA.

Just a word of warning, I got one of ASUS cards and it was defective. The card was not packaged well from Newegg and the minute the card was put under any load, it would crash. I sent it back and picked a Sapphire 4870X2 from Tiger. Luckily I live in Chicago, so I have Tigerdirect, Fry's and MicroCenter locally.
