It seems like when my laptop is idle for a while (or i shut the lid) it goes into hibernation or something like that. I always have to hit the power button and it shows the BIOS screen and then it goes to "Resuming Windows".
I checked my power settings and I don't think i see anything that would tell it to do this.
It wasn't like this before though. I had vista x64 then i formated and put Ubuntu on it now i'm back to vista and it just started doing this.
Any ideas?

Open an Adminstrative Command Prompt (not a regular one, you find the Command Prompt link on the Start Menu, right click on it, choose Run as administrator"), and when the window opens, type the following command:
powercfg -h off (then press Enter)
That turns Hibernation off completely and deletes the hibernation file off the system partition.

You could also go to Power Options in Control Panel (in System and Maintenance) and customise what happens; click 'Change plan settings' under the plan you're using, then 'Change advanced power settings'. You might, for example, want it to do nothing when you close the lid, but hibernate to save the battery after a period of inactivity in case you leave it on inadvertently.

You'll probably have to go into the advanced power settings to disable that, if you don't want to disable Hibernate completely. Just go into Power Options in the Control Panel, select the Change plan settings link under whichever plan you have selected, and then click the Change advanced power settings link in that window. I think the setting you need to change might be Sleep>Hibernate after.
