The issue could be lots of different things, but try going into the BIOS and setting it so that it doesn't halt on all errors. Maybe a defective or incorrectly installed floppy drive is halting the boot process.

If the hard drive is blank and you have to install Windows, then you will need to make sure that the BIOS boots the CD drive before the hard drive.

Windows XP small business? Check to make sure you don't have a floppy disk in the drive, as suggested, check your boot order and make sure that CD ROM appears before the hard drive. Also check that the BIOS can even see the hard drive.

Most CD buring software will have a choice to " Burn CD from ISO". It's a special process that converts the ISO to the bootable CD...it's not a direct copy such as with a data CD.

ok, will any blank CD work? or does it have to be a DVD rom or something?

Use a CD if it will fit, just look at the size of the iso file. I think the option you are looking for is something like "burn from disk image file".

did you finalise the disk? some buring software will leave the disk "open" so you can add to it later but some drives cannot read them until they are finalised

it's an option usually located on the dialog box to initiate burning (Nero for example).
