I have a question about an external HD (WD Mybook) and getting it to show up on a PC.

The drive was formatted by OSX so I assume it's HFS+ and I need to know if I can use it on a PC somehow without formatting it:confused:

I did do some research and I've read that I could use Macdrive from media4, but I thought I would ask here.

You've basically stumbled up on. You'll need to use some third party program for Windows to play nice and see an HFS+ partition. Especially for reading and writing.

Does anyone know of any programs that can do this besides macdrive?

I've been thinking I could format this thing or maybe just partition it and format 1 partition. My question is if the drive is currently HFS+ I won't be able to format it from windows right:confused: Can I format it NTFS from a Mac somehow?? Or will I have to use a boot disc with drive utilities:confused:

You can format a FAT(32) partition from under OS X (I can't remember off the top of my head if you can format NTFS under OS X). You can also reformat it under Windows. You just have to delete the basically unknown partition and then reformat it. If you reformat it as FAT32, you will be able to access everything fine under OS X if you still need to use the drive on your Mac.
