Can the iSCSI target machine read/access data stored on the shared volume while being accessed remotely? How are file locks handled if the iSCSI target machine has a file open when the initiator trys to open it?
I'm thinking of going iSCSi as a way to alleviate some backup issues. My first go at using it as a prelude to expanding the setup later on for general usage. Not sure if it's going to be Windows or Linux yet. The box would be running some terabyte drives with a tape drive for archival. Certain things would be replicated there during the day and full backups done at night.
