Has anyone tried running Windows Home Server with over 2 TB of storage? I bought the 1.5 TB Seagate drive Thanksgiving day for $120 and I'm curious to know if the fact that WHS is only available in 32-bit will cause any problems as I already have aver 600 GB storage as it is.

I have WHS and current have 2.5 TB and will be adding another 1.5 TB over the next few days. There is no problem with HD space.

WHS really has no limit, well it does, bit IIRC its somewhere in the exabyte range.

A 32 bit OS is limited in terms of RAM, not storage.

FYI, Windows XP x86 and I believe Vista x86 are limited to 2 TB of HDD storage.

Not true. I had a 12TB array on the 32 bit versions of both OSs.

They are limited to a 2tb volume on MBR disk
If you use GPT disk that goes away

With WHS it uses DE or mapping to to concatonate your volumes into a single large usable space.
So in reality there is no limit on storage.

I have around 9Tb on my WHS

Not quite. XP 32 bit doesn't support GPT. There are still ways around the 2TB barrier though.

When doing research in the past I ran across a post that said they had 32TB on WHS. No problems.

You guys scared me with all this posting.

I just got a WHS box and I plan on having four 1.5TB drives in it and for just a moment, until I got to the bottom of the thread, I was worried it was all for naught!

I'm pretty sure if you read any of okies build threads you would see there is zero issues

You'll be fine..I'm running nearly 6TB's but recently removed almost all my drives from the system becuase I"m not using that much space and it didn't seem wise to have disc's spinning when not needed. When I need them I'll reboot the machine with the power plugged into those drives but for now its fine.
