I suspect (and hope) Joe Average will be by here soon.

I DL'd the free trial of Home 2009, and I am currently burning backup to DVD in preparation of a new HDD. If I am correct on what I read, I should simply boot from Disk 1 and then restore to the new drive? What kind of interface is there to use?

Edit: I see that I must create a bootable disk from within Acronis. This makes the program very similar to a free program I tried called Macrium Reflect.

you create the boot disk, then there is a full GUI to use when you boot into it. Acronis can also be used as a home backup solution

That is also the plan. I have my disks created. Beats the shit out of a full reload of a very new OS.
