Alright let me first start out by stateing I searched forever and ever trying to find a good monitor. I'm one of these type of people who don't afford very much and can't very often.
So when i buy i buy good. Many probably have been seeing me comment on here and figured out that i can't spell and such. Well to be honest' I'm not very good at talking either. I am natively speaking english but i dropped out of school at age 16. I suffred from ministrokes throughtout highschool never had any friends and to bring my said story to an end i love electronics and know a little about them. So if you see me typing clearly sometimes and not the other please don't hold that against me. I have to think how to spell alot and i don't know anything about grammer.

If you wont a gameing monitor at 22 inches beacause of the screen size you automaticly go tn at this moment in time. This is the lg227wtg-pf in all it's glory.

At first glance it is very very sexy looking It is glossy and does have a flimsy base.
hands down no question asked. (I will say that the image quality makes up definitly).
It has a blue led power button when lit. and orange when in standby.
I have had 0 problems with it comeing out of standby in xp pro sp3 on dvi are vga.

The specs on this bad boy are
Screen Size 22"
Now days 24 inches is the sweetspot. but there are some good monitors that are sickend with the dreadful tn sickness that are TN but refuse to die. For people like me who can't afford a video card that can push anything higher than 1680 by 1050 a 22 inch is perfect. this does hdcp(console connecton) pefectly.

Widescreen Yes

All modern screens are 16:10 for monitors and 16:9 for hdtv(1080P) It is hard to find one that is 4:3. As you will find out this can do 4:3 perfectly. this does hdcp(console connecton) pefectly don't have 360 brother has it so i can't show you.
Ignore the clock it is a rainlender resolution software glitch

Recommended Resolution 1680 x 1050

Viewing Angle 170°(H) / 170°(V)
viewing angles of most tn's is 170 horizontal and 170 vertical. with most 22 inches are smaller it is 160/160 sometimes 170/160. but rarely 170/170 as you can see in the pictures below that this holds true and is not a exagerated viewing angle you will not find a tn with a higher viewing angle also if you don't wont tn. the minimum is around 500 dollars for something better .

he colors on a tn aren't that bad at least on this one:)
http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/6800/l227wtgsideviewpl7.jpg
side view it's wierd the camera has a focus thingy i don't know how to turn off which sucks if you notice my thermaltake shark is clear but my monitor is blurry. from the side you will notice that it does indeed get lighter and the colors do change. i had the side of my phone touching the left side of my monitor. the colors do get light but they don't invert like a normal tn would. this is a plus because normaly they get light then invert from the side which is 10 times more annoying.this one does excellent.
http://img380.imageshack.us/img380/9027/l227wtgpffrontwx2.jpg
front view you can see that the image contrast is at it's darkest direct center (like all tn's)
if you notice my phone seems to adjust badly to the lighting also the colors are not at all as vivid. the contrast is way off in the pictures but it was the best i could do. If you move your head back and fourth about a foot from left to right and the image will not shift anymore than that and it will.

top view and bottom view are the worst for image shift on all tn's once again i took an image from the top. it didn't inver but the colors did get lighter.

can't get bottom desk in the way :p plus its a camera phone which sucks
they get lighter but never really invert

Display Colors 16.7 Million

The monitor comes setup out of the box at 100 percent brightness and 70 contrast with the gamma on 0 . the gamma itself has 3 settings -50/0/+50 it has an option like all monitors for colors. to me it was best set at 52 red 49 green 48 blue.

for a comfortable view i have mine at 63 brightness on this monitor does not affect anything other than brightness. on the contrare contrast does. ive read and experience slight banding only on charts. if going below 70. I think the manufacture found this out and now that is what the default is. Also the reason it came in at 100 brightness like alot of monitors do. is because the pixels need to be broken in at a higher brightness in order not to have a yellow tinge. also it's good to leave your new monitor on 100 the first couple of days to see if you experince backlight bleed.

Brightness 300 cd/m2
300 nit is more than enough to have a pure white point. nothing more to say than that.

Contrast Ratio 10000:1
this sports a 10000:1 via ccfl it is faster than some other models from what i read in changeing speed to cope with gameplay. this also creates a vivid luster of colors that can get realy deep without being saturated.
Response Time 2ms
2ms response time is about the fastest we are going to get on response time. Although i do beleive the scaler is holding us back on all current generation monitors this one in my opinion has an excellent one. read here for my argument with vick1000. I came to the conclusion it was pointless to argue. this is my opion on the hardware not a standard thing . here is the link http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1364738

Horizontal Refresh Rate 30 - 83kHz
Vertical Refresh Rate 56 - 75Hz

This monitor has the ability to run
resolutio Horizontal Vertical
of frequncy frequncy

720 x 400 31.468 70
640 x 480 31.469 60
640 x 480 37.500 75
800 x 600 37.879 60
800 x 600 46.875 75
1024 x 768 48.363 60
1024 x 768 60.123 75
1152 x 864 67.500 75
1280 x 1024 63.981 60
1280 x 1024 79.976 75
1680 x 1050 64.674 60
1680 x 1050 65.290 60

although i have been able to push a vertical freqncy of 73 hz at 1680 by1050 i can't go any higher without artifacts.

Display Type WSXGA+
Connectivity
Input Video Compatibility Analog RGB, Digital
Connectors D-Sub, DVI-D
it only has a d-sub connector for analog and dvi connection it is hdcp complient. so go down to your local store and get an adapter. it scales 16:9 almost excellent.

D-Sub 1
DVI 1
HDMI No
Power
Power Consumption 45W

average with akillawatt is 31 watts for me at my settings.

Ok now for the good part. This monitor unlike others can do 1:1 pixel mapping. it has the option to stretch 4:3 out to 16:10 are you can select 4:3 inwide in teh system settings to pixelmap it to the center of the screen. And it scales beutifully. at all resolutions. one of the best ive seen.

here are some various resolutions i made them to show how good the scaler was but you can't tell with my phone ah well

also by going into service mode reviealed what panel was in mine!

It comes with a 3 year lg 48 hour quickswap service if there is a problem. The only other downside i can see is that it doesn't come with a dvi cable. but from what i could tell there was no diffrence in quality. but i can tell you the image quality makes up for it hands down.

It has from other sources ive read online 0-1 ms of lag for excellent headshots.

It is wide gamut. for some people they may think what the hell is there a wide gamut tn for. I assure you that if you do photoshop and can't afford 500 dollar are more monitor.

1 your probably got it of the net with a few clicks of the mouse and a couple hours of waiting and 2 if you set directly in front of the monitor the colors do no change that badly.

all this for a 22incher thats only 50 bucks above the rest comeon why not get it?
also my camera phone does not do it justice and really takes the colors all out of whack

I have a question about the pixel mapping. It can do it without stretching in either direction? So lets say you do 1024 x 768. There are black bars on all 4 sides, not just two sides and stretched?

I can't decide if I should return the HP w2207h I got for $200 and wait for a deal on this LG.
