Hi guys,
I'm new at OC'ing and hoping that my question isn't too obvious! Here's my problem:
I've been playing around with my MSI P7N Platinum MOBO (having Core 2 Duo E8500 on it and Patriot Extreme DDR2 800). I changed the FSB Frequency like this (boots OK):
CPU Freq: 3.16 -> 3.42 GHz (333*9.5 -> 360*9.5)
FSB: 1333 -> 1440 MHz
DRAM: 800 -> 792 MHz
Resulting Temp (when idle): 30 C
This is exactly what shows up in BIOS. Note that I didn't modify any voltages. BUT! When I bootup to Win XP SP3, I get old, non-OC'd settings with CPU-Z! I boot into CentOS 5.2 then, and same thing, no change in any frequencies whatsoever!
Why so??
