I have a PC that is taking forever to load Office when I try and open anyfile from My Documents or My Recent Documents or any other folder for that matter. If I just open up, for example, Word and then do file open it comes up in a matter of seconds. Sometimes, during this period of waiting for Word to load, explorer.exe will crash. I will have to ctrl+alt+del->run->explorer.exe. I am assuming there are some corrupt files in my OS but I'm not entirely certain. I have tried rolling back to a restore point from a week prior to this happening and that does not work. Any recommendations?
This all seems to have come about from a crash that occurred during a very short power outage/surge. The PC was connected via a typical surge protector.
