I am having a tough time to determine what exactly I would need if I were to take the plunge and buy into VMware VI3.
Here are the physical machines I have
BOX1: 2x dual core (3 production VMs)
BOX2: 2x dual core (3 production VMs)
BOX3: single quad core (2 production VMs)
BOX4: dual quad core (2 production VMs)
optional BOX5: 2x dual core (undetermined VMs)
optional BOX6: 2x dual core (undetermined VMs)
I do not need load balancing, or cluster computing.
I do need proper remote management capabilities, cloning, fail-over capabilities, backup.
What am I supposed to buy? The last time I contacted my local reseller they told me that one can not upgrade from ESXi to ESX, so at this point I think I will get more qualified answers on here than if I were to call them again.
Thanks in advance!
