I cant figure this out...It only happens in WoW

I get the BSOD randomly in the game WoW....sometimes in 5 min....sometimes 2 hours later.

Game locks up, sometimes is black screens and sometimes it just freezes the screen and then jumps to BSOD and does a minidump.

ive scoured the internet looking at this 0x00000124 code and it seems to be Audio/Vista driver related with RealTek HD audio ( which i have on my 780i) so i turned this off and ran my Razor Barracuda AC-1 Card and still the same thing. Swept drivers for Mobo and GPU's and reinstalled with drivers from NVIDIA...still the same thing. Tried one 8800gt alone instead of SLi and same thing in WoW

Every other game works fine on my pc and this just started after the 3.0.2 patch was released.

I need help....im almost out of options here at what to do.

Have you tried removing and reinstalling WoW?

Or better yet just remove it and move on.:D

i have no reinstalled WoW that would take hours on end, but i guess i could.

i play it maybe 3 times a week if that...its just annoying that it crashes the pc every time i play.

Well a reinstall is where I would start.

But sorry to hear WoW is such a pain to reinstall. With EVE when a patch messes up my install I can download the current full client and usually that doesn't take very long.

Edit: Well you got the attention of the man below me and I suggest you take advantage of that. Odds are it will save you a lot of time and trouble in the long run.

If we were dealing with cars I would be considered a parts changer compared to Ranma_Sao the automotive specialist.

I went out last night and got a ATI 4850 and tried that and it seems to be working fine, i didnt have one lockup last night...however i don't see how with the 8800gt's in SLI every other game works flawlessly.

its just drivin me nuts i cant imagine one game would cause all these problems....hahaha

i found this weird....i ran orthos today when i left for work and then at lunch i dialed into the pc and it was shut down...

i logged back in and found it gave me the 124 error while running orthos, now i do remember testing methods of dropping my voltage on my cpu a few weeks back and it was running good at ~1.21 volts. previously i had it at ~1.3 volts wheni first did the overclocking.

So i bumped it back up to 1.35v and im running orthos again.

I wonder if this could cause the issue????

These are machine check exceptions. Your CPU signalled something is seriously wrong with your hardware.

If you are overclocking, this would be a definite symptom of it. ;) My guess would be to roll it back to stock and see if you still have problems.

yep it was unstable OC. God i feel stupid
Orthos ran fine when I initially changed the voltage, however now its unstable.

bumped it up to 1.3 volts and its running stable.
