So I got my self a 160gb Veolociraptor from my local craigslist. Heres the ad.
Western Digital VelociRaptor Hard Drives for sale
WD800HLFS 80 GB - 69.99
WD1600HLFS 160 GB -89.99
10000 rpm
SATA interface
S&P Electronics
After looking at the model number for the 160gb it came up as a Dell only exclusive. Hmm.. weird.. Anyways it seems to be fast but is the 80gb version faster? I'm thinking my 160gb version is two platters of the 80gb version possibly making it slower.. but who knows?

Nah, barring individual idiosyncrasies, they're the same speed.

My question was if the 80gb version is faster than the 160gb version. And they do exist.. I have a 160gb velociraptor in my system now, and they sell a few of them on ebay. (Dell system pulls).

And my answer is still "no". :D
I have an 80GB VR (and a 300) and yours is as fast as mine.
AFAIK, they're all the same.
