I'm guessing this is just a faulty drive, but the new samsung 640gb drive I have is taking forever to transfer files onto it. It will transfer very quickly for about a minute or two, then will slow right down and then the bar wont move at all. It then eventually freezes.

Sound like a faulty drive? I tried to scan it for errors before windows starts and that also stops at 10% and wont go any farther.

Any input would be great.

Update the motherboard BIOS and get the latest motherboard drivers, that way you almost eliminate the possibility of an incompatibility.

Huh, didn't even know Seatools could work on other manufacturer's drives. Run Drive Fitness Test to confirm Seatools' error finding.

But it sounds like you need to RMA.

Both of these sound pretty bad. Seatools is PLENTY confirmation...especially when an HD can't even finish a Windows chkdsk - *knock on wood* I haven't seen that kinda shit since Windows 95.

Backup your stuff, and fill out the RMA form.
