Just picked up a Dell-branded Perc4E/DC with the battery backup module. Currently running an PCI LSI scsi card.

So here is where the problem starts: I put the Perc4E into my machine and tried to boot into windows to install drivers for the card. I reset the controller cards bios to clear NVRAM. After finding both cars on bootup, I never get to the "loading Windows" screen, I just see a black screen.

When I reset the machine, I hear two quick beeps from the Perc4E card, and the machine never fully reboots. to resolve this, I have to fully power down the machine and restart.

My questions:

1. Does the Perc4E/DC not like to play well with others? Should I completely remove my existing SCSI card (my plan anyways, just need to move the data off of it)
*note - I already backed up the drives data to an external, so I will be removing this SCSI card when I arrive home*

2. Should I try and run the Perc4E without the battery module?

3. What in the world are the two quick beeps in sucession? I could not find these listed anywhere in the Dell manuals.

4. Is there another thread on the Perc4E already? i.e. should I upgrade the firmware, what are the best drivers to use, etc

-Removing my existing LSI 21320 card and the Perc4E runs fine. Now to see if I can fit the card into a PCIe x4 slot by cutting the end of the motherboards slot off.
