Are there any nice mods for vista to change up the standard layout? I'm not so much referring to themes or skins, but any kind of interesting mods that kind of open up the UI a bit...

I would thinkt hat with composite rendering available, some interesting new stuff could be done, but I may be wrong...Wondering if the mod community has turned out any gems...

Link me up with some neat stuff :D

Stardock (http://www.stardock.com) makes quite a few. I can vouch for ObjectDock.

Stardock has great products. I've used WindowBlinds 6 with Vista but sadly it doesn't skin everything like I'd like it to. At the moment, I'm using CursorFX Plus & IconPackager. I'm slowly changing my PC systems into what I can call my own.

+1 for Rocketdock. I installed it the other day. It's pretty cool.

I think what you're looking for is called a shell replacement.

Not necessarily a shell replacement. You can add to existing shells like the RocketDock applet I mentioned above. But yes there are programs out there that replaces the Windows UI entirely.

Are you using Vista 32 or 64? RocketDock isn't compatible with 64-bit WinXP and Vista.

EDIT: Not compatible is incorrect --- not supported is correct. Install away!

Been using it on vista 64-bit since I got it and I have never had a single problem.

I guess I stand corrected... It should be that it's not supported rather than not compatible.

Game on!

It is most definitely compatible with Vista 64. I've had zero problems with it. Some of the plug-ins require that you start rocket dock as administrator before making changes, but other than that, it runs very smooth on vista 64.
