Ok-- not going to throw a rant here-- But needless to say-- sick of the vista bs..

Trying to install openoffice on my vitsa64 rig... Of course as i try to install it i get "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation"... NO I DIDNT!!!!!!!!!!... Then i go in and right click the installer and give it admin rights... and --STILL CANT install it... I have been reading and looking around but havnt seen any answers(some say turn off defenders-- others say not to)... Other then walking over and kicking bill fucking gates in the nuts-- what can i do to feel better and actually enjoy my vista??? If no answer about enjoying my vista---any thoughts on how i can install my openoffice?

I don't think it's Vista that's causing your grief. I have installed the latest OpenOffice across 4 different computers on both Vista Ultimate x86, Vista Ultimate x64, Vista Home Premium x86 and Vista Home Premium x64. In fact I just removed OpenOffice yesterday from the desktop in my sig because I scored a student copy of Office 2007 for $90. Can't beat 3 licenses for $90 but that's besides the point ;)

Is the system in question the one in your sig or is it another PC? You still state XP Pro x86 is your sig so it's a little confusing. :)

Have you made any changes to the system since install? Like run a baseline security file from NIST? What tweaks have you done to the OS? UAC disabled or enabled? What version of OpenOffice? Have you look at the local security settings to see if something weird was set?
