View Full Version : Need x64 atapi.sys file
Could someone upload there atapi.sys file from a Windows x64 system please. The one on my XP Pro x64 SP2 cd is corrupted, I tried the disc in a couple systems and have the same problem. I looked high and low on the net and can't find it anywhere, unless I over looked it..
TIA

Just an idea, If the file on the cd has a name like atapi.sy_ than you can't just rename it to atapi.sys. It has to be decompressed first.
I need to go the other way, from atapi.sys to atapi.sy_ the renaming of it worked, at least it looks like it did.
I tried it with the one from my installed Vista Ult 32bit and it worked as far as the install seeing it, but I get a not compatible with x64 error, which I expected.

I don't understand. What is you're trying to do?
I need to install XP Pro SP2 x64, and during the install I get "atapi.sys is corrupted" and the install stops. This happens in the very begining when it's loading the device drivers. I tried it on a couple systems here and get the same error, so obviously the file on the disc is corrupt, which I don't understand because the disc is pretty much in mint condition.
