My brother lost his copy of XP pro. I made a backup and the backup is good except for the fact that its not bootable.
Is there any way I can make a working(bootable) version so he can reinstall XP?
I tried creating an image with Roxio and then burning it as a bootable disc...but obviously its not that simple.

google for how to slipstream sp2 into xp, it will include info on how to make a bootable cd from the result. You will be able to skip all the slipstream steps and go right to making it bootable.
You'll need the bootsector which some sites provide

I've only found one with a link to the bootsector and I didn't exactly follow what the directions meant.
If someone knows of a site that has directions(with the boot sector download) I'd appreciate it.

Copy the contents of the CD to a folder (I mean everything that's visible on the CD itself goes into that folder). Get nLite and use it to make a new bootable CD ISO, and that's it. Takes less than 2 minutes to do this once nLite has the files loaded. It'll create a new ISO and place the appropriate files to make the resulting ISO bootable, then you burn that ISO and wham, you're done.
