Hey guys, I'm going to be updating my storage situation in the near future since I am rapidly running out of space.
Currently I have two mismatched 250gb drives running in Raid-0 which holds my OS and programs/games and then a Hitachi 7k1000 750gb for data and backup of the raid array.
Seems to work quite well, although the Hitachi is damn near full.
So, I need more space for data!

I considered getting another Hitachi 7k1000 750gb and running them both in Raid0 for 1.5tb of storage, and then keep my OS/programs on the 2x250gb drives, but I am not sure I would like to trust all of my data on a raid array.

Should I get rid of the two mismatched 250gb drives and load my OS onto the 750gb and pick up maybe 2x 1tb drives and raid them? Then save a backup of that onto the OS drive?

Or another option could be to get two more of the Hitachi 7k1000 750gb drives and run a raid-5 with 1.5tb of usable space.. and reliable.

What would you do??

sup with your need for raid? even raid0 for data seems good?
is your need for one partition so big? :) try mounting drives under dirs, helps :D

i would sell 2x250g, get 2x640 wd for sys and current storage and go for single drive storage on 750 or 1t drives
