Seagate 500gb ext HD

SO i bought this drive 1-2 months ago and it works great but its causing me new issues.
If i leave it plugged into my computer it wont allow the computer to post and gives me endless reboots. Once in a bluemoon it will allow a boot into windows only to have wiped all my bios setting back to default. It works fine but this issue just seems retarded. What should i do cept RMA it?

Don't leave it plugged in?

Plug it in when you need to backup stuff and unplug it when you're not using it. No reboots, no RMAs and a lower chance of your hard drive dying or getting by virus rampaging through your system.

i had 3 seagate external HDD's fail on me.

i will never go seagate EVEr again

build my own from now on :D
