And this seems to be a common problem with new egg, my (raptor)HD was DOA:rolleyes:

No company can ensure that their delivered products will work 100% of the time. At least newegg has a good RMA department.

Dont buy Drives from the egg.

Yea except about 50% of the time drives from newegg are F*d

I've bought at least 10 drives from the egg and had 0 problems. A lot of people complain about the newegg packing for drives, but I seriously doubt that the normal shipping roughing up is enough to damage a powered off hard drive, no matter what the packing is like. Drives are speced to hundreds of G's of impact when powered off.

i am not defending the egg but over the years i have probably purchased 50+ drives from newegg and none were DOA. I did have 5 or so, over the years, die a few months after i purcahsed them but i can blame it on swamp gas from mars because i will never know why the drive died so soon.
