Well I've had this 300GB IDE drive laying around for the past 3 years. I've always wanted an external hard drive, but I'm new to the concept so I was wondering if I could buy this Galaxy METAL GEAR Metal Gear Box II (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817716010) and put my hard drive inside it to make it an external drive.

I'm sure there are cheaper types of external IDE interfaces in the market, but any should do in practice. Just plug it into the box, screw it back up, connect the power and USB and you should be good to go (You may have to format depending if the drive's not formatted to begin with).
I think $25 is pretty cheap already for ide external enclosure. However like previous post said I'm sure u can find sth cheaper. I have a similar metal gear box for quite a few years and it works out ok and the installation is pretty straight forward.

I bought an external IDE drive bay for $15 with a $15 mail in rebate. I figured, FTW!
