I've been reading and it seems to be that the normal variance between the cores seems to be that core 0 & 1 run hotter, or core 0 & 3. However, mine is kind of strange. Core 0 and 2 run hotter, while core 1&3 run cooler. Is there any explanation for this variance?
Running @ 3.1 GHz on stock voltage (1.2875)

0-1 for me have always been like 2-4c' hotter than 2-3 im not sure why that is but under load it increases by 5-8c' its really scary for me as a first time builder

LoL, the quads always seems to have a weird spread. Mine's at 38, 36, 31, 34 right now.

My Q6600 lapped had a ~12C differential between coolest and hottest cores, which dropped to about a ~8C delta at max load. OP, I wouldn't worry too much about strange spreads.
