why are each cpu core temp higher than the just the CPU. I know a CPU temp of 33 is really good, but does the core temps matter? I don't understand the difference.

CPU temp is an "artificial" temp, either coming from a temperature sensor placed near the CPU socket on the motherboard, or from some other even less useful location. Core temp is what you want to be concerned with, as it is a reflection of the temperature of the CPU core itself, read from the thermal sensor built into the chip.

thanks that's all clear to me now. :)

are those temps for the core too hot?

For the record, you'd want to use Real Temp, not Core Temp for your CPU. And those temps are perfectly fine.
