I am running vista x64 on an Intel q6600 with 8GB ram and trying to use virtualbox to create a vista 32-bit guest. For some reason, the shared folders I have created never show up in my guest. I am using virtualbox 1.6.2. Any chance someone could help me on this? Thank you in advance...:)

no one else has had this problem with 1.6.2?

have you declared the share folder from that machines settings page

Yes. What version of virtual box are you using? I have seen some rumors that 1.6.2 shared folders have a bug for vista guests.

It's working perfectly fine for me here. I had a bit of a problem installing it at first, sorta like the issue you are having.

You have to make absolutely sure you have the Guest Additions installed properly. You can load this from the VBOX CD/DVD drive manually; specify it on startup. After it gets installed, you will be able to share folders with no problem.

Also, be absolutely sure that before the VM starts, you specify in the virtual machine settings where the shared folder will be; this will simplify things for you.

so I figured out the problem...you have to use the IP address of your host machine and then you can see the shares. That's the only way I got it to work. Sorry if I was a dick about the problem...:)
