I've got 2 250GB drives in RAID 0 which equates to 465GB after formatting. Currently Explorer shows that I have 234GB available. Out of curiousity, I added up my 4 largest files on my C:\ drive and got:
Windows: 17.4GB
Users: 56.7GB
Program Files (x86): 46.2GB
Installers: 37.9GB
After subtracting all of those out, I'm left with around 305GB. So where did 81GB of space go?
I only included folders with greater than 1GB of them, so there's some smaller miscellaneous stuff not included.
