i had an issue in vista x64... i could not enable write cache for the raid volume in device manager...

i then installed a intel matrix manager from 6/2008... (not 2007)... that enabled write cache! for my raid 0 setup..

try it out if your having the same issues... or check your raid now..

device manager>properties on the disk drive/volume... properties... performance

are they checked?

if not install this and reboot: then check again:

anyone try this?

it seems to raise my low-end read/write speeds and average..

if you have an intel motherboard see if its intel matrix and then try it out... it takes like 5min

doesnt this increase the risk of data loss? (according to vista it says it does)

Only in the event of a power outage.

anyone get performance benchies or "feelings" about how this changes performance?

Only in the event of a power outage.

This causes data loss in any write interrupt event, period. If you crash, data is lost, because cache may not be flushed to disk. Not just when you lose power.

not if you have battery backup...

but also... if your just video gaming it doesnt matter to much... but good points guys!

i wish battery backup cache was standard on these high end motherboards
