I'm building a new system and am thinking of just doing a Raid 1 Setup with a boot partition. What's all the fuss about a seperate drive?

Never heard any "fuss" about separate drives just for booting into a RAID array. Haven't seen any posts related to such practices either, sooo...
Now I'm curious.

Some people(not myself) think that booting off a raid array is like asking for problems so they say have a dedicated boot drive and then have your data in an array. Its some good advice for some setups but it just depends on peoples risk tolerance, system usage, etc. I boot off a RAID0.

Raid 0 might make more sense with the increased risk of data loss, Raid 1 should be alight eh?

I'd say so
