Ever since i changed out my vid card, it seems that my RAID card has been flipping out, first it was my sound card (X-fi) was coming up with error 10, moving it to another PCI slot that was further from the vid card fixed that.

but at the same time my raid card EX8350 started dropping my drives, i have had it running for 2 years without a single problem, and have rmaed 2 drives in 2 months since i installed it, and even sometimes good drives get dropped.

im thinking it might be power, or the way the mobo sends the signals. both the vid and raid card are PCIe.

any ideas?

What board is this on, and what device is in which slot? Some desktop boards have been known to have problems with non-graphics cards in x16 slots.

P5B Deluxe (asus) the weird thing is, for 2 years, it ran perfectly, not one hick up with the 1900XT, then i put in a 8800GTS and bam, failures left and right with some calm there in between.

sometimes the raid card isnt even detected on boot up if a drive failed and its rebuilding.. sometimes it will work for a week. I switched power cables to distribute the load a bit more (2 drives per power cable used to be 3 on one of them), but i have a seasonic 600 watt, stable as anything AFAIK.

the RAID card is in the second PCIe slot.

Even my motherboard overclocking started to fail at times when the raid is degraded.
just yesterday, the array was rebuilding, then all of a sudden it aborted. the drive status was "Offline" which pretty much means no power. (in the middle of work? some 15 mins after boot)
I rebooted it, fine, it was detected again.
I booted with Hirem's and ran a diag, not one problem.
plugged it back in, and have not had a problem yet (fingers crossed)
