Areca 1220 - RAID 5 building question

Let's say I have 6(SIX) 1 TB HDDs. 3 are Western Digitals and 3 are Seagates. Can I RAID 5 them together to make a 5TB partition? Or will there be problems?

In theory, you should have no problems, however, WD drives are known to have issues with Areca RAID controllers. If you enabled the TLER fix, I don't foresee you having any problems, but that might not be the case.

On the WD's just enable TLER and you should be fine.

I have the 1TB GP Western Digital drives... are those TLER enabled by default? Also, I can't find the utility to enable TREL. Any links would be appreciated.
