I have a couple of Vantec EZ-Swap EX enclosures. The enclosures work great using them via USB cable. However they came with a 2.5 and 3.5 internal mount that connects internally via SATA. Using hot swap on internal SATA is not working very well for me with Vista.
I was wondering if I could convert the SATA cable to an internal connection for USB. Then connect it to one of my pin headers on the motherboard.

Thanks for any info.

Those internal ports really aren't supposed to support hot swap.

AFAIK, there's no esay way to turn a SATA plug into USB.

Why don't ya try the easy solution and get this HotSwap program (http://mysite.verizon.net/kaakoon/hotswap/index_enu.htm).

It's worked well for me on various boards.

Good Luck!
