If I'm making the correct assumptions to fill in the missing info, it sounds like you might need an updated audio driver.

how can i if i dont have the model/serial #?
how can i find it without going inside my case and removing the hardware to find it?
(dont have the box ethier anymore [ithink])
i thought it would be a sound driver but i didnt wanna update the wrong drivers so i didnt...
i have an X-Fi but not sure which one i think its an Xtreme Gamer one, but thats like a total guess of the last time i saw the box which was like almost a year and a half ago..

If this is your computer, you should know what hardware is in it. If not, open up the computer and check. That would only take a minute or so, and then you'd know.

I'm just speaking out of my ass because you said you have an X-Fi. I don't think it's a driver issue more like something to do with the Creative Audio Console if you've installed it. It switches your sound depending on what you're doing. You might have it set to 7.1 on entertainment mode but when you launch a game it'll go back to 5.1 or whatever it's set to in Game mode etc.

ok i looked and i got some numbers and what not.. but i dont think its the model number, also on creative.com there is no place i can search a model # and get a driver for it, i need the exact name of the product.. i tried just now Xtreme Gamer, i lost my TV Turner Sound, i am getting no sound what so ever from my TV Turner now..
right now i gonna try to re-install the driver, if same prob happeneds i might try xtreme audio drivers..
So i need help now on getting back my sounds for my TV Turner.. =\ .. tried everything
Note i never understood these sound things below, so normally i guessed at whatever combo, to get sound.. normally i never remember, i did try saving a note pad file on what combo worked.. (which i cant find now)
In Audio options
Audio out is choices of - Auxiliary- Line-In- CD Player - Wave - Mic- MIDI Synth- S/PDI-in - and Wave again..
Audio Recording Line - Auxiliary - Mic - Line-In - MIDI Synth - "What U Hear" - Wave
its a WinFast2000 XP Expert , and yes i tried updating to the latest PVR (drives i couldnt find)
EDIT UPDATE: ok now its recording with sound, but i cant like hear it without recording, like its only giving me sound on recorded clips..i think its something to do with Audio Out options, which i just messed with and got nothing..
