Ok we bought a nice little laptop on ebay its loaded with office legit copies of XP as well. I thought it was strange to find windows media play 10 in Japanese so I deleted it and moved on. Well its more complicated than that. EVERYTHING is in Japanese even the help files. If you start typing it turns it into Japanese. How can I change the default office language to English. I found where to change the document language just not where to change the default for the program. HELP wife is going nuts.

It's not that simple. Sounds like you have the Japanese version of X{. You're going to need the English version of XP.

^ Sorry couldn't help it. :D
Sillyness aside, were you able to contact the seller of this laptop and inform him/her about the software on the laptop? As a matter of fact, from where did it ship?
I would imagine that you'll have to find English copies of the same software. I can't remember if Microsoft provided multi-language options or not. :(
