I'm having a hell of a time on a new build trying to get CS3 Master Collection installed. All goes well until the final "summary screen" where it only lists Adobe Acrobat as being successfully installed. All other components I've chosen fail. I've followed many suggestions online, such as registering dll files and cleaning the system up with the CS3Clean utility. Nothing seems to work, but I know I've had this installed months ago on an XP x64 system. I even tried running the setup.exe in XP compatibility mode. Anyone have this trouble?

Some components require Quicktime, though they should install anyway. Some require java too, but I believe they install some outdated version themselves anyway. Just some thoughts, I've never had any problems, but I've never used XP x64.

I had the latest Java VM installed beforehand, but not Quicktime. However, when I tried to install this on a fresh Vista system, without Java or Quicktime, it installed fine. I did that mainly to make the method of install from a hard drive would actually work. Many websites suggested copying the files off the disc to the hard drive and then running the setup, which gave me the same issues.

are you installing it in its default location? ie c:\program files (x86)? i just installed my copy last week and it went smoothly. im also using vista x64 sp1. the only thing i did different was not to install acrobat.

Yeah, I had been using the default locations. I tried this on Vista x64, XP x86, and Vista x86 with no issues. I'm only having problems with XP x64.
