I've just started using Outlook 2007, and I never used Outlook Express. When I delete a message from my Inbox, the message remains visible in my Inbox but has a line crossing the message out. This indicates that they are "deleted", but they don't appear in my Delete Box or at least that I know of. Will these messages go away? Is this just a precautionary measure against accidentally deleting messages? Thanks!

If i am not mistaken, this means you are deleting an email in an account that uses http or a imap4. This means that the message stays on the server when you download it to your computer (or you download a smaller version i forget). The cross with the little line through it means that next time you connect to the server it will be deleted. Or if you want to get rid of it you can go to edit\purge\marked items to do it manually.

Another question - when adding an event in the Calendar, does the "reminder" (default 15 minutes) mean that it will remind me 15 minutes before the event occurs, or that it reminds me every 15 minutes until the event occurs?

It will remind you 15 minutes before the event occurs...Its kind of like an alarm clock.
