I have been unable to uninstall the Vista SP1 Evaluation copy. I have tried everything.
See previous posts. So I was just going to leave it alone. I have one concern. I think I read that the SP1 evaluation copy is only good through June 30th 2008. So I am wondering if this is the case what will happen if I have left this on my computer. Will Vista stop running? Will it try to uninstall itself? Or will computer self destruct.
Anyone have any ideas?

I think at worst, it will nag you and then refuse to log in. No explosions or anything. :p
Vista will install without you having to insert a key or activate for 30 days. The June 30th thing may be for a Beta version of VistaSp1. I don't know anything about that.

To get rid of Vista, backup your needful data to removable storage, boot up with a nix live cd or ultimate boot cd or make a bootable "boot and nuke" cd and wipe, re-partition, or format the drive or partition Vista is on. It will be gone then.

Yes the June 30th thing is for the beta version of the SP1 evaluation copy. Just wonderiing if it will affect Vista.

I would suspect it will simply not allow you to use it anymore, aka "It's dead, Jim."

But by then you'd be ready to roll with a clean install of the real thing now that it's out, right?

The problem is that I CANT uninstall SP1 Beta so I cant do a clean install of the SP1 that is out now.

The point is: you do a clean install of Vista SP1, not just Vista, and then try to install SP1 onto that. You need to make a proper integrated (aka slipstreamed) Vista Service Pack 1 installation DVD for yourself. A clean install is defined as: you back up whatever personal data/etc you have on that drive, and wipe it clean and then install Vista Service Pack 1.

This has nothing to do with uninstalling the beta Service Pack; this is about getting rid of all that old code period and starting with a fresh clean installation of Vista that already has the Service Pack 1 files properly integrated.

Guess I didn't clarify that in the first place.

Do you not have install media for Vista?
Being unable to uninstall the beta SP1 will not keep you from: backing up your important data, formatting C:\, then reinstalling Vista, then installing the release version of SP1.

This is one of the reasons I never mess around with a BETA of this type. You have to be prepared to reinstall, or restore an image of, your OS.

One question, why can't you uninstall the Beta Sp1? I had no problem doing so on my laptop.

This is a good question. I have tried everything........see previous posts.
Nothing works. I get a blue screen and then Vista wont start until I do system restore.
I have tried this 4 times now and gave up.

Probably, some way or another, the uninstall files, restore points, or backup files needed to roll back the SP got deleted, (system cleaners sometimes do that sort of thing), or the files just got corrupted (OC, or 680 mobo, or drive error maybe).
Once they are gone/corrupt, something like an SP is there to stay short of an OS reinstall.

OP: You are just going to have to reinstall the OS.

Edit: If you are getting a blue screen during a reinstall of the OS, then you have a hardware issue you need to look into.

No I am getting the blue screen when I try to uninstall SP1 Beta.

Then just reinstall Vista and apply the non beta Sp1.

I was hoping not to have to uninstall and reinstall Vista. This is why I was wondering what will happen after June 30th with the SP1 Beta. Guess I will just wait and see.

It's gonna die, simple. There really isn't a "fix" for your situation except starting over, which is as already mentioned the best possible solution in the long run.
