I am planning to clean install Vista 64 bit and I would like to get some answers to a few install questions from experienced users:

1. I am going to install using SP1, but does it contain all of the essential “hot fixes”?
2. If SP1 does not contain all of the essential “hot fixes” will Vista retrieve them from the internet during the install?
3. Are there any essential “hot fixes” that I will have to download on my own?
4. Are printer, scanner, video and sound card drivers automatically installed by Vista or will I have to do this after the initial install?
5. Is it better to just replace my Creative X – Fi Xtreme Gamer with a different brand or are there drivers somewhere that work?
6. Should I turn off any over clocking before I install?

System specs: EVGA 680i, QX 6700, 2 8800GTX’s SLI, Raptor 150 - boot drive, 2MB memory (will upgrade to 4MB after install)

If there are other install issues I should be aware of please let me know. Thank you in advance. It is appreciated.

Do yourself a favor and make a "new" Vista x64 Service Pack 1 integrated installation DVD so you install Vista SP1 and you're done. No need to install the OS and then do the long drawn out installation of SP1 on top of that afterwards. You can use vLite (http://www.vlite.net) to create an integrated Vista x64 SP1 install DVD and never think about it again.
