With my computer, I ordered a 120 gb hdd. When I got it it said that it was only a 103gb. Of that 103gb I only had about 65gb free. This was before I put anything on my pc. At mylast check, I had 49.9 of 103 free (with my stuff). I contacted HP and they told me to run a program to fix it, saying that it was a problem with vista(Incorrect Hard Drive Partition displayed on Vista) . I ran the program and it now says 20.3gb of 73.1gb. What is up with it?

That sounds about right. A gigabyte is what hard drive manufacturers measure hard drive space, while operating systems reads the drive as gigabinary. So you multiply 120*.93=111.6, and then take into account the image they put on there, a loss of 8 GB sounds about right.
