So I'm looking for 2-3 data drives. Speed doesn't matter as much as its not going to be a boot drive but I want something reliable. Normally I only use seagates for my data drives but I was wondering if the Samsung 750 is reliable? If I get any should I make sure I have enough to keep important dating on RAID 1? I know its always a shot in the dark but figured I'd ask..

Like all HDDs the Samsung F1 drives will eventually fail. What type of reliability measure are you looking for?

Nothing major just wasn't sure how reliable they were. I usually use Seagates for data drives because of reliability.

Unless you provide a clearer question I don't think anyone can possibly provide a clearer answer. I know someone who has three of these drives, and his house hasn't burned down yet.
Always back up important data, and if you need it continuously available do raid 1 too.

Just wondering about average reliability of the drives. I know they're new but I've heard of people having problems with older Samsung drives. Haven't really heard anything bad aside from the nforce chipset problems. So I guess I'll bite.

It depends...I was gonna buy 2-3 myself for RAID 0 or 5, gonna probably use them for a few years until I either run out of space or 1TB+ HDs are in the same price range a few years later
I have heard good things about Samsung F1's but usually when they fail, it's not a few months later but right away so you can just RMA it

A lot of people have been getting in on these hdds and it doesn't look like there are that many negative user complaints.
