hi guys,

I would like to check with those who are using Adaptec 3405 or 3805 SAS Raid controllers. I understand that both cards uses passive cooling and would like to know whether it becomes very hot during operation?

I currently have an LSI MegaRaid 8344ELP which is passively cooled and it makes my whole system freaking hot. So, if the Adaptec is cooler, I would change to Adaptec.

Pls give your comments.

Thank you.

Mine runs just fine, just warm, not hot. However, keep in mind that I have mine in a real server running SunAce fans to cool the cards, so cooling is more than adequate.

PS. if you are looking for a 3405 with BBU (Battery Backup Unit), I am selling mine.

Have you tried running yours without any cooling? The SunAce fans that you're using, are the mounted onto the heatsink of the card itself??

Hmm.. How much are you selling your 3405??? I'm from Singapore, would you be willing ot ship here??
