I don't have one yet, but I'm planning on one. I'm going to be getting the EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI Motherboard mobo for it, but I'm concerned about what cooler will fit that mobo as it has some fins and heatpipes that surround the socket?

I'm looking for an air cooler and not looking to go liquid and I would like something quiet, but something that's going to cool really well and hopefully allow for some excellent overclocking.

I was thinking of the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme ( http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_page/product_page/cpu/u120ex/product_cpu_cooler_u120ex.htm?art=MTQyMywxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA == )

Does anybody else recommend anything else, or should this do it? Anand has a review of it and it's look pretty good. http://www.anandtech.com/casecooling/showdoc.aspx?i=2943&p=1

That's about as good as air coolers get. Its a tight fit on the 790i from what I understand but does fit.

I have heard that it will fit but hearing and seeing are 2 different things...
It is not as big as the pics make it look.
I have a true on an 8400. At 4.1G 1.29V on the core I get 48C max.
thats on a x38 dfi with +9 on the temp monitor. 4.2G I get 50-51C
have not tried anything higher.

Does anybody know if the Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme will fit in an Antec P180 case?

It will work but very close to the side cover, had to put a small dent in it.

A small dent to me, means that it's not very close, but too big. Thanks for that though. I will have to find a slightly smaller cooler.
