I had one a Halo edition at home, but when I moved I let my lil bro keep it because I know my parents couldn't afford to get him one had I taken it. Fast foward 4 months and I want one again. I'm thinking about buying the Platinum edition on Newegg since it has HDMI (not that I'll be able to use it, but want it for when I get a big screen tv). Might even order one while I'm at it. :)

Anyways, I'm going to get an extra controller and Rainbow Six: Vegas 2. Is there anything else I should get or that it for now?

My lil bro has those both. I'm sure he'd let me borrow those.

I should have mentioned I'll be mostly into shooting and sports games (except crappy Madden).

I would make sure you play COD4, it is a blast. GTA4 will be out late april, as I am sure you know, and that should be great.

Kinda obvious... but Rainbow Six Vegas 1 as well. ;)

Also... Bioshock, Forza 2, PGR4 (if you prefer arcade racing) and there's a bunch of great XBLA titles.

I still need to pick up Burnout Paradise. Was always a huge fan of the burnout series. Just have had so much going on in my personal life to even think about playing it though. Still have it on reserve at gamestop...hehe.

As far as HDMI, if you have no HDMI port on your TV but do have a DVI port (like my TV), then you can buy an HDMI to DVI adapter that should work. Not sure what the quality would be like since I don't have an HDMI on my 360.

DVI = HDMI - audio

Video quality should be the same as they are both digital.

FYI, All xbox360 models have an HDMI port now.

The Elite includes the cable, though.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that. Would need to use RCA or whatever to hook up audio that way.

Condemned 2 :)

Also pick up a play n charge kit if you don't have one. They are very handy.

Since you're into shooters, I would also suggest the Orange Box (unless you already have it on the PC).

I ended up purchasing:

Xbox 360 Platinum Edition (has HDMI support)
Rock Band
Fusion Frenzy 2
Skate
Rainbox Six Vegas 2
Call of Duty 4
Xbox controller (gotta have at least 2)
12 months Xbox Live Gold
Quick Charge Kit

I should get it sometime next week. Can't wait! I'm gonna find Halo 3 on Ebay or somewhere cheap, because I don't feel like paying $59 for it.

Thanks guys! My lil bro has Crackdown, so I'll borrow that from him. I almost spend $800, so I figured that was enough for now. :)

You're going to need 2 copies of crackdown since a big part (not really big, more like the most fun part) of the came is coop.

I was going to get Gears, but I figured I'd wait for GoW2. Rainbox Six Vegas 2 and Call of Duty 4 is more than enough shooters for me right now. Also I'll have Halo 3 soon as I'm buying it from a forum member on another site for $25 on Friday.

you're a nice big brother. gears is good if you have people to play it w/ (i'm not a huge fan of single player fps) mass effect definately.
