I am actually interested in this myself...
However, I have read that this is not possible using known methods. Can someone enlighten us on this?

Not possible. From their FAQ:
Can vLite integrate Vista Service Pack 1?
Nope, Vista SP1 is not integratable. This is something Microsoft has done because there is a update needed to the "Servicing stack" which basically installs the SP1, Microsoft does have plans to make Vista SP2 integratable. It is best to get pre-integrated SP1 version of Vista (Already has Vista SP1 integrated) when they become available in Mid-March. There is nothing which can be done so plese don't ask :)
I guess we would just have to contact Microsoft to get Vista with SP1 integrated or get it through TechNet. Anybody want to share? :)
